Training & Development

Focused on Care have partnered with Akadia to deliver a range of online and face to face training options. 


All Support Workers receive training in:

  • Manual Handling
  • Medication
  • Professional Boundaries
  • Infection Control
  • Critical Incident Reporting
  • Documentation 


Our team members also complete a comprehensive induction and receive training in relation to Work-Related Violence and Aggression. 


Part Time Employment

The National Employment Standards (NES) ‘casual conversion’ is when casual employees who have worked for their employer for 12 months need to be offered the option to convert to full-time or part-time (permanent) employment by their employer. Certain eligibility requirements need to be met for this to occur.


Focused on Care welcomes the opportunity to discuss permanent employment with our casual team members before the 12-month mark.
