Supported Independent Living

Focused on Care have a number of Supported Independent Living Homes across South East Queensland.

We are honoured to be able to provide these critical supports to our clients. We work extensively with our new SIL clients to ensure we are delivering client-centred and individualised supports to meet both their NDIS and personal goals.

We are continuing to expand these services sourcing new homes tailored to the needs of the client and also matching each resident to help ensure a good fit. Specialist Disability Accommodation

Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) refers to accommodation for people who require specialist housing solutions, including to assist with the delivery of supports that cater for their extreme functional impairment or very high support needs.

In conjunction with our partners, Churches of Christ Housing Services, we are pleased to offer an SDA home in Crows Nest supporting clients assessed as needing high physical supports. 

This home has been constructed to provide independence, dignity, choice and community cohesion to all residents.

The purpose built home achieves platinum level certification under the Liveable Housing Design Guidelines and High Physical Support Certification under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) guidelines.

Short Term Accommodation (STA) or Respite

Short Term Accommodation, including respite, is funding for support and accommodation for a short time away from a client’s usual home. It covers the cost of their care in another place for up to 14 days at a time. It’s often funded when their usual carers aren’t available, or for them to try new things.

We are pleased to offer STA services in Crows Nest. 

The purpose-built development achieves platinum level certification under the Liveable Housing Design Guidelines and fully accessible under the National Disability Insurance Scheme Specialist Disability.
